Feel Comfortable and Fulfilled in 2012
Feeling good about your style in the season ahead should be your priority and adding a little edge to what you already know about yourself will expose you to a host of opportunities.
With all the mod-cons available today, achieving that just stepped out of the salon look is also so much more achievable too.
What I do not want you to do however, is to make your hair the victim of your New Years resolution … I would rather you went out and bought an obscenely outrageous top that doesn’t suit you, than decide on an impulse cut and colour that is based on a need to change rather than on good taste. You can jettison the garment when you come to your senses but an inappropriate haircut and colour is more difficult to fix. Hair grows at a rate of one centimetre a month so if you don't enjoy your pixie cut, you will have a miserable time ahead. I am all for change and your haircut and colour are open to re-invention but careful thought and planning is a good idea. Here are some ideas that you can safely try if you feel the need for a new look for 2012.
Edgy looks can take on the form of a slightly brighter tone of colour by comparison to the one you have right now or a strategically placed high or low light for emphasis sake. Straight instead of curly or viceversa may be a nice change too. If your plan is to grow your hair , remember the rate at which hair grows and work out how long it will take to achieve your goal in order to avoid frustration. Haircuts in this instance should be carefully monitored as over-cutting will result in negative growth (obviously). Good conditioned hair would only need a slight cut every eight weeks (bad conditioned hair will take quite a bit longer while you restore it to the former condition by cutting, if it is beyond treating). Make sure that your style also matches your inherent style-personality as this will allow you to feel at ease with it. For example don't have a just out of bed look if you have a classic bias. Rather go for a tidy style in this instance.
I think it is all about feeling comfortable yet fulfilled.
Happy styling!
