MOVE YOUR BODY INTO 2012
According to many extremists the world is going to end in 2012! Well I guess that puts a little pressure on getting the body in shape since we only have a few months left!
As we near the end of 2011 and reflect on colourful events, the up and downs and many experiences it has brought with it – we are always reminded of those dreaded three words “New Year’s Resolutions”.
Normally at the top of the ‘to do’list when it comes to a New Year is one’s health. Quite agreeably a healthy body equates to a healthy mind, renewed vigour, and a boost in confidence.
However,I have to admit to being a non-conformist when it comes to having your tick- list ready and waiting for the New Year. Why on earth do we put such pressure on ourselves when really all we’re doing is setting ourselves up for a big fat failure?
Instead, I would like to offer some healthy, happy and sustainable ideas to ease into your New Year and beyond with renewed vigour! Lots of small changes to your lifestyle will equate to a massive shift in your health for life.
· Enjoy yourself over the festive season and do not allow yourself to feel guilt over an over-indulgence. If you really want to splurge, then go for it, but consider the consequences.
· Just keep in mind a few simple rules. If you want to have a healthy holiday and not gain 2kgs like almost everyone else then don’t use the holidays as an excuse to have a 24/7 eating spree. Learn to balance your intake of calories by keeping as active as you can. You’ll be surprised at the success of this formula.
· Keep your body hydrated this season. High temperatures and an inclination to drink more alcohol all contribute to a dehydrated system. If you do not drink enough filtered water the body will hold onto whatever fluid it can and you’ll wonder why you feel bloated!
And for 2012 apply these three powerful rules to your routine and look forward to your new body:
· Eat real, whole food nutrition in the right amounts throughout the day.
· Do resistance training and push it to the limit.
· Use High Intensity Interval Training.
From me personally I wish each and every one of you happiness, fulfilment, success and God’s richest blessings! Remember, don’t look backwards - you’re not going that way.
