Dave Charles - Brief Overview Dave Charles – award winning (Loerie, ATKV Crescendo, NTVA three times) broadcaster, television producer, editor, writer and storyteller. He spent five years in Zululand working on the battlefields in partnership with the late David Rattray. Dave is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the SA representative and Fellow of the Anglo Zulu War Historical society. He holds a BA Dram Art degree from The University of the Witwatersrand and he has recently been cited among the first recipients of the inaugural Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Gold Medal for Service to the Zulu People together with David Rattray (posthumous), Sir Stanley Baker (posthumous) Prof John Laband and author Ian Knight.
